Today Code of Support Foundation (COSF) announces the release of “Six Simple Promises”, a new music single and video that pays tribute to the less than 1% of Americans who serve in uniform. Since 1955, the nation’s warriors have been bound by a Code of Conduct in which they pledge that they are prepared to give their lives in defense of our freedom. “Six Simple Promises” refers to the six articles of the Code of Support, a document dedicated to U.S. Troops by civilian Americans, which parallel the articles of the Code of Conduct for the military.

“Six Simple Promises” world-pop beat and call-to-action lyrics include voices of all ages, ranging from 4 to 79 years old, representing the hundreds of millions of men, women and children who owe their freedom to so few. The multi-generation vocalists sing and rap to music composed by Major General (Ret) Alan Salisbury, Code of Support Foundation founder and CEO. The public service music video includes some of the original vocalists along with Americans who’ve pledged their support to service members, veterans and their families.

“The military of today is an all-volunteer force. As a result, fewer American families are impacted directly when our military goes to war. All Americans have a stake in our future as well as a responsibility to do their share in our defense,” said Major General (Ret) Alan Salisbury, Code of Support Foundation founder and CEO. “The Code of Support’s “Six Simple Promises” is intended to rally Americans of all ages into making a commitment to our military in return for their selfless service and sacrifice on our behalf.”

“Six Simple Promises” is available from more than 100 digital distribution channels including iTunes, Amazon Music and Spotify. Proceeds from digital downloads will support the foundation’s programs, which provide critical one-on-one assistance to struggling service members, veterans and their families.
