For Immediate Release:

EY ANNOUNCES CODE OF SUPPORT FOUNDATION CEO MG ALAN B. SALISBURY

AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR KRISTINA KAUFMANN

AS EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® MID-ATLANTIC 2016 FINALIST

McLean, Va., May 12, 2016 – EY announced that MG Alan B. Salisbury, USA, Ret. and Kristina Kaufmann of Code of Support Foundation are co-finalists for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2016 Award in the Mid-Atlantic program. The awards program, which is celebrating its 30th year, recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. General Salisbury and Ms. Kaufmann were selected as finalists by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 15, 2016 at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner.

“We are honored to be selected as one of the finalists for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2016 Award Mid-Atlantic region,” says Alan B. Salisbury, Code of Support Foundation CEO. “Code of Support Foundation was established when Kristy and I recognized, through our respective military service experience, that our nation had  to re-evaluate how we assist those service members, veterans and families who have sacrificed so much to ensure our freedom.  We identified an overcrowded veteran support marketplace with more than 40,000 organizations that were mostly overwhelmed and disjointed. And, given the increasingly fragmented state of the industry at the time, we knew that no one entity could possibly and effectively leverage all the necessary resources to assist those service members, veterans and their families who were struggling.

“We didn’t want to be just one more organization competing for industry market share. Alan and I wanted to amplify our market share and encourage collaboration with veteran service organizations across the country,” adds Kristina Kaufmann Code of Support Foundation Executive Director. “Our business model has proved successful not only in the number of clients and families we’ve served which includes the essential “Human Element” but by our recently developed cloud-based technology platform PATRIOTlinkTM which has been funded by Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation and will piloted this summer.  We are thrilled to be the only veteran service organization selected as an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2016 Award Mid-Atlantic region finalist. This nomination is a tribute not only to us as founding entrepreneurs, but to those who we serve – the men, women and families who defend our nation’s freedoms.”

Now in its 30th year, the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries throughout the world.

Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 19, 2016. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
