Ceremony to Honor our Post-9/11 Women Veterans
September 11th, 2014
The Women's Memorial
Arlington, VA 22211
The Code of Support Foundation in partnership with the Women in Military Service to America Memorial Foundation, will hold a special ceremony on September 11, 2014, to pay tribute to the women service members who have lost their lives in support of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq since 9/11. The short ceremony will be officiated by MG (R) Irene Trowell-Harris and BG (R) Wilma Vaught.
The ceremony will feature the Code of Support Foundation's "Living Wall of Honor", a memorial created by Green Living Technologies, Int., to welcome home all Post 9/11 veterans. The Wall, made up of over 700 plants, now stands at the Women's Memorial with 160 empty pots to represent each of the female service members who have lost their lives since 9/11. Guests will be asked to place the final 160 plants in the Living Wall to honor the service and ultimate sacrifice of these women, and to help create a bridge home for all Post-9/11 veterans.
