Code of Support Foundation (COSF) announced today the CEO, Kristina Kaufmann, will leave the organization at the end of the month to pursue a new leadership opportunity with Brighton Marine, Inc., continuing her service to military and veteran communities. Kristy co-founded COSF with MG(R) Alan Salisbury in 2011 to connect military and veteran families to the critical, but often out-of-reach, resources they need.

Over 11 years, COSF has helped tens of thousands of military families, supported them through tough times, and ensured they receive the benefits they have earned through their service and sacrifice. Code of Support services include one-on-one case management and the cloud-based PATRIOTlink® network, which provides veterans self-paced search tools to access resources for which they qualify. Recently, COSF was honored as one of only 30 first-round awardees out of more than 1,300 applicants in the VA Mission Daybreak Challenge to address veteran suicide.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, staff, and all the donors of Code of Support Foundation, I recognize and celebrate the tremendous impact of Kristy’s leadership since the founding of the organization. Recent successes, like our recent Mission Daybreak Challenge award, reinforce how essential our work is to military families, particularly those with complex challenges. Moving forward, we will continue to meet the need and carry on the work that Kristy started. She is leaving us in a strong position, and we wish her well.” said Hon. Bob Speer, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and former Acting Secretary of the Army.

“Alan and I co-founded Code of Support to ensure struggling military and veteran families never feel alone, and receive the support they need and have earned. I am immensely proud of our entire team, who stand by our nation’s heroes when they need us most. Many of our case managers started their dedication to this work like me, as military spouses and caregivers. Their work – and the mission of Code of Support – has never been more critical. I am so grateful to our donors and partners for your continued support, which enables COSF to continue their tremendous positive impact on those who have served our great nation,” said Kristina Kaufmann.

“I want to thank Kristy for her leadership in pursuit of our shared vision. I am proud of the important work that we have done together on behalf of military and veteran families,” said MG (R) Alan Salisbury. “Veterans in crisis often need an advocate as well as access to resources, which is why we provide both one-on-one support and our cloud-based service, PATRIOTlink®. Together, these services ensure that veterans get the help that they need and deserve. Kristy has been a visionary leader for this important work, and we celebrate her legacy.”

Court Ogilvie, Chief Operating Officer, will serve as Acting Executive Director. Bob Speer stated, “I and the entire Board of Trustees are extremely confident in the team under the leadership of Court Ogilvie, who joined Code of Support in 2019, and brings more than 20 years of nonprofit executive leadership for high-impact, public-service missions.” Prior to COSF, Court served as Chief Operating Officer for the National Military Family Association, and spent 15 years at the American Red Cross in enterprise-level roles that include leadership of disaster relief operations, fundraising, operations, and support of the military. Court is a child of a career Army aviator and engineer, and he brings a strong personal commitment to ensuring our military families receive the help they deserve.

“I thank Kristy for her passion, dedication, and vision to serve a critical need. Together with our donors, funders, and supporters, she has led the way as we have helped thousands of veterans, caregivers, and family members. It is my great privilege to lead the team to continue that work on behalf of those who have served our country,” said Court Ogilvie.
