CODE OF SUPPORT FOUNDATION SERVES VETERANS, MILITARY FAMILIES, AND MILITARY CAREGIVERS. OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND RESOURCES FOR THOSE WHO SERVED. ALLYSON IS A MILITARY CAREGIVER AND A CASE MANAGER AT CODE OF SUPPORT.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Building Relationships with clients and setting them up for success. I have a little saying that life is all about relationships. Connecting and relating to people in order to encourage and inspire them is my motto.
What are some tasks you do daily?
Every day I am touching base with clients and connecting them to the resources they need.
How has being a military caregiver impacted your work?
Being a caregiver has taught me tons. The biggest thing I have learned is to be empathetic but have boundaries. Being a caregiver also allows me to connect with clients in a unique way. I understand some of what they are going through, which enables me to identify their needs and the resources they will be able to use.
Who inspires you?
I don’t know if I have a certain person who inspires me. I have had several counselors in my adult life that I have really admired and partly because they are in the helping field. And I have a good friend who is also a caregiver and is a little ahead of me on the caregiver journey, she is encouraging and talented.

“Life is all about relationships.”
