Code of Support Foundation is coming up on its 10 year anniversary, and we couldn’t be more excited! This monumental anniversary would not be possible without the hard work of our staff. Today we would like to recognize David, the Senior Director of Development at Code of Support Foundation. The passion David brings to serving the military and veteran community inspires us all!

1. What is your job at COSF?

As the Senior Director of Development at Code of Support Foundation, I manage our external affairs including fundraising, marketing, communications, and engagement.

2. What is your favorite part of your job?

I enjoy most being able to connect the world to our work to serve veterans and their families – this helps raise awareness and critical funding to serve those who served us and our country.  The power of philanthropy lies in fostering relationships between those with the means to create social change and those who stand to benefit from it.

3. What are some tasks you do on a daily basis?

My favorite task is talking with donors, foundations, and corporations who care about issues facing veterans so that I can help them find ways to engage and support where it’s needed most. I also get to plan opportunities for our funders and those we serve to meet each other, and craft strategies for sharing

4. How has being a military child/sibling impacted your work?

My father and brother are both career military, and both served as examples of truth, honor, and commitment in my life. Growing up in a military household means that I will always feel personal responsibility to help and serve others; witnessing their sacrifices first-hand means that I will always feel gratitude for those who serve.  Now, at COSF I have the opportunity to give back to veterans and military families.

5. Who inspires you?

I am inspired by every veteran living with permanent disability, including PTSD and other non-apparent disabilities who, if given the chance, would make the same choice of personal sacrifice to protect our rights.
