Code of Support Foundation connects veterans and their families to the essential services and resources they need. However, this would not be possible without our dedicated staff. We would like to recognize Roslyn for all her hard work as a PATRIOTlink® Specialist, but it should be known that she wears many hats at our organization! Right now, she is assisting the Case Coordination Department as a part-time Peer Navigator, all while managing the Volunteer Program at COSF. Clearly, Roslyn is an integral part of the Code of Support team!

1. What is your job at COSF?

I am officially a PATRIOTlink® Specialist. PATRIOTlink is Code of Support’s resource database, where we house thousands of free, direct service programs. I am happy to say, I also work directly with clients in our Case Coordination Program.

2. What is your favorite part of your job?

Completing the Mission. I wanted to work here the moment I found out who Code of Support was and how they serve the veteran community. I get to work with clients and see the successes we have, but I also get to work on maintaining our database, which really helps me to find the programs our clients need.

3. What are some tasks you do on a daily basis?

I update and maintain programs in PATRIOTlink®- we make sure these programs are as up to date as possible, with accurate and verified information. I also spend my time directly working with clients who reach out to us for many different reasons, finding solutions for them is one of the things I do that just makes my day!

 4. How has being a military spouse impacted your work?

Roslyn, with COSF staff and volunteers, who she coordinated to organize supplies at a local food pantry in Alexandria, VA.

Among many other lessons, being a military spouse has given me perspective on how important the family as a whole is to the veteran. While serving in active duty status on deployment, family can be their only lifeline to the ‘real world’. I think this carries over after separation from the military, if you truly want to help people make lives better; you should rebuild the family as a whole.

 5. Who inspires you?

Military Spouses in general. I learn something from every single one I meet. They are like my sisters and brothers; we are bound by our spouses being gone A LOT, while our lives have to go on as normal. Having waved my husband off on several wartime deployments, I can honestly say I forged some very deep bonds with many spouses and have great respect for how they manage to be mom, dad, plumber, car mechanic, electrician…you name it…we’ll figure out a way to get it done!!
