In a year of unprecedented challenges, the Holiday Gift Program at the Code of Support Foundation brought cheer to the children of military and veteran families across the nation. Through the generosity of Bob “Santa” Nelson and numerous donors, gifts were provided to more than 160 children of active duty service members and veterans who served in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force.
Throughout 2020, Code of Support experienced a 200% increase in requests for critical support like employment, food security, financial assistance, affordable housing, and access to mental health care. These are the families of those who have served our country, and we believe they deserve better. Yet, many veterans told us they worried most about what “Santa” would be able to leave underneath the tree:
Thankfully, Mr. Nelson, who humbly refers to himself as “Santa Bob” had the ambition and holiday spirit to connect his network of generous donors to 57 lucky families this season.
Together, the team of Case Coordinators at Code of Support matched those in need with Santa Bob’s generous donors. The families shared their children’s wish lists, and the donors made dreams come true for these children during this holiday season – a time when we can all agree to help serve those who have served our country so bravely.
On behalf of Code of Support, thank you for making this holiday truly magical for each and every child in these families of heroes.
