The 2020 Sweethearts & Patriots Gala was a huge success. The event, held at the French Embassy, was hosted by the D.C. Society Sons of the American Revolution, with representatives from the D.C. Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Each year, the Steering Committee chooses two gala beneficiaries, one French and one American veteran service organization. This year, Code of Support Foundation was honored to be chosen as the beneficiary.
The night began with opening remarks from COSF’s Chairman Speer, a representative from Terre Fraternite (the French beneficiary), gala co-chairs Rachel Norman and Geoffrey Newman, followed by keynote speaker Maj. D.J. Skelton (pictured above with COSF CEO Kristina Kaufmann and his wife, Tucker Hirsch). Maj. Skelton shared his story of monumental loss, recovery and redemption with the hundreds of attendees, noting the importance of assistance Code of Support provides to service members, veterans and military families.
The COSF staff had a fantastic time sharing our mission, inviting attendees to Sign the Code, and dancing to the live music! Check out our photos from the night:
