Read about how providing a veteran family with critical resources made room for an empowered pursuit of a fulfilling career.
A post-9/11 veteran applied to our Case Coordination program when he unexpectedly lost his job. As a husband and father of three, the loss of employment brought on stress about bills and finances. We worked with a community partner to secure two months’ rent for the veteran and his family.
Not only did this provide immediate relief, but it gave the veteran room to pursue his passion: barbering. Now, the veteran is building a mobile barbering business so that he can cut other veterans’ hair, a career where he sees “magic happen in the chair.”
The veteran and his family are moving toward a happy, thriving future. We believe that when veterans are met with critical resources in times of need, they can begin living empowered and equipped lives after service. This is our why.
